Shawn E. Brady of Springfield, formerly of Chicago, died Tuesday, July 24, 2012 at his residence.

He was born in Belleville, the son of Earl “Gene” and Marvine Brady. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, mother and Uncle Tom.

Shawn was a graduate of Edwardsville High School and attended Lewis and Clark Community College. He was the president and owner of Drawn Metal Products in Niles. He loved his family, Farmingdale neighbors and Chicago, EHS and Belmont Harbor dock friends. He enjoyed boating and golfing and was an avid Cubs, Bears and Blackhawks fan.

He is survived by his father, Earl “Gene” Brady of Springfield; son, Preston (Maddie) of Tulsa, OK; granddaughter, Ava of Tulsa; sister, Karla (Scott) Wilhelm of Springfield; brothers, Mike (Sheila) of Butler, PA and Brian (Danette) of Edwardsville; and many loving aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, September 1, 2012, at Vancil-Murphy Funeral Home, with Rev. Gary Winkleman officiating.
